About SwiftSaver

SwiftSaver is an independent web tool that helps you download publicly available Instagram content, including Reels, videos, photos, Stories, IGTV uploads, and carousel albums. Whether you are a creator backing up your own work, a researcher collecting references for a project, a social media manager archiving campaign assets, or simply someone who wants to save a funny Reel to watch later without an internet connection, we built this tool for you. Our goal from the start has been to make saving public content as fast and as simple as possible, without asking anything of you in return.

Why We Built This

Instagram is where a huge amount of everyday creativity lives, from short clips shared between friends to professional portfolios built entirely on Reels. But the platform does not make it easy to keep a personal copy of the content you love, even when that content is fully public and freely viewable by anyone. We saw a gap between what people wanted to do, which is simply hold on to something they found meaningful, and what the tools available to them allowed. SwiftSaver was built to close that gap in the most straightforward way possible.

How It Works

When you paste a public Instagram link into our homepage, our system reads the link, communicates with upstream data providers, and retrieves the direct media URLs associated with that post. Your browser then downloads the files directly from those sources to your own device. We do not store a copy on our end at any point in this process, and once the transfer to your device is complete, our involvement with that particular file ends. The entire process typically takes just a few seconds from pasting the link to having a downloadable file in front of you.

Who Uses SwiftSaver

Our users come from a wide range of backgrounds and use cases. Content creators use SwiftSaver to keep backups of their own published work outside of the platform, protecting themselves against accidental deletion or account issues. Researchers and journalists use it to collect public reference material for their work.
